black summer

In July and August, multiple sorts of vegetable and fruit appear which are almost black, dark blue or dark violet. The polish blueberries, which turn your tongue completely purple and if they weren't so yummy I would use them to dye clothes or paper.  Black currants – wonderful to add to a salad or to make cassis, sorbet or jelly. Purple string beans, which have the purest string bean taste I know of, leaving all the regular beans behind. Or black grapes from Italy, which remind me of the grapes I used to eat as a child.

And while cleaning the currants, 4 little gorgeous snails appeared. They are not going to be added to the cassis, but found a continuation of their lifes on my balcony. I do think they make beautiful models.
